As society is developing, it's clear that having more power without the ability to steward that power leads to the chaos we are experiencing in all of our lives right now. We are all caught in momentum we can’t control unless we first walk back to doing the right thing as an individual, family, and community. If life is like a river, we are all caught in rapids right now. Knowing how to navigate the chaos and danger of the current is key to getting back in the raft or safely to the shore.
One of the obvious answers to me is a conversation about values and character as the foundation of how to behave as we choose what to do next. I believe this conversation must include an ethical movement back to the character and principles we want as the foundation for our choices and decisions.
We must not allow the momentum that has been created to lead us, instead of creating boundaries for that momentum as we choose what to do next in our personal growth as individuals, the evolution of our society, government and technology. We must include moral, character based, values based ideas to help shape the way we grow. When the freedom and the momentum we are experiencing get out ahead of our character development, that freedom and momentum will eventually pull us to the bottom of the river.
